Welcome to The Foreigner Times

My perspective of life for better or worse.

It’s my birthday

It’s my birthday

It’s my birthday!

Or at least it was when I started to write this. 🙂

Yes, my 35th birthday, my 35th lap around the sun, my 35th winter. Some would say: “you have too many winters now”; I would say too few… and this is what I have to say about my birthday:

Thirty five years is too short a time to live among such excellent and admirable people.
I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve….” 🙂  😉  😀

Can you guess who said this (quote) that I just made mine??? Hint: LOTR 😀

I tried to make a celebration for my birthday. The problem with the date of my birthday is that it is always very close or during eastern holidays what makes it very hard to gather people in Costa Rica. I even tried twice a BBQ in my place the 2 week ends before…. But no luck. Its ok, no worries. At the end I got a birthday cake with a chandelier on top. What about that!?!?! So, I shared it with my family. You can check my Instagram if you want a piece of cake.

Also, during these days I was getting ready for my next adventure: Singapore!

One day I was talking to a friend and I realize that in less than a month I was in 3 different continents: This past December I was in Europe, Africa and then back to America, all that in less than a month!! And now a 4th one, to Asia!! (Yes, is not bragging if you can back it up right?). Seems like my work is a good passport 😉 .

sailor deployment

The biggest challenge of this relocation will be… probably everything!! Different culture, slightly different weather, different languages, very different time zone. They even drive on the other side of the road! But I trust my ability to “blend in”, besides, it is not the first time I am relocated, remember??? I am The Foreigner!

So starting next week I will be sharing with you my thoughts from Singapore. I will try to share and cover more interesting topics, like… whatever come to my mind 😉 . In fact I just have a new topic: fashion.

I know I am not a “fashionista” but after all my travelling I should know better right? At least I can share the “DON’Ts”. It seems that some of you (or us??) guys and girls have no “true” friends (and no clue about what to wear) and they do not tell you: “hey man, don’t make a fool of yourself’ (quoting Caius). Therefore, you can not always rely 100% on your mother or girlfriend/boyfriend, because my mother also tell me all the time that I look sooooo handsome 😉 . Got the message?

Until next time from Asia!
